GoldWing to be used as a taxi!

January 2007..... Ray Borg, 48, has become the first in Lancashire to be granted a private hire licence - for a motorbike!

Ray was granted the licence by South Ribble Council to offer trips on the back of his GoldWing. He will offer trips to the Lake District, Ribble Valley and further afield, charging up to £120 an hour.

Ray, a self-employed training consultant, has had the touring bike specially adapted to take passengers and has spent hundreds of pounds on safety equipment. He has also bought several luxury items for customers, including two-way radios, waterproofs and a heated jacket for the winter months. Customers will also receive a full safety briefing before setting off.

Ray was inspired to set up 'Goldwing Rides UK' after hearing of a similar company in Windermere.
